Opening a Workspace

The simple process of opening a Workspace causes the analysis and trading decisions on all charts in that Workspace to be updated. For this reason it is important that a Workspace is opened whenever there is new data available for the instrument(s) for which there a charts in the workspace.

Open a workspace by:

Using the File > Open Workspace menu.
Clicking on the Workspace name in the list of recent workspaces at the foot of the File menu.
You can also double-click on a Workspace file in Windows Explorer, in which case a new instance of Sentient Trader will be started, and the Workspace opened.

When you open a Workspace in Sentient Trader, each and every chart within that workspace is opened.

If the charts within the workspace are not linked by inheritance in any way then the analysis update process on each chart is triggered simultaneously.
If the charts are linked by inheritance then the update process starts with the first chart in the inheritance chain, and each chart is updated in turn. This process is used only with the Intraday version of Sentient Trader.

Having opened a workspace you will start working with the Sentient Trader Charts contained in the workspace.

The Intraday version of Sentient Trader has the ability to open multiple workspaces simultaneously. When doing this it is recommended that you use the workspace monitor to keep an eye on all your workspaces.
